Winter Fishing 2011

Well Winter is finally here, just had the first snow of the year and there is ice on the pools, I'm hoping that this winter is not as bad as the previous two.

My recent trips out have been to Stoat Hall,Croft Fishery Adlington,Heskin Old Hall & A private fishery.

All these fisheries have provided the trio with a good days fishing, we've fished in all weathers and caught well .

We had a good day out at Stoat Hall, please see previous report on this fishery.

At Croft fishery we fished the main pool in very windy conditions, Steve H had a good day with a mixed bag of fish which incuded a lot of F1'S.

Heskin Old Hall saw Nelson & myself fishing pool one, it was a slightly milder day and we caught plenty of the usual suspects with Nelson bagging a small carp.

At the private fishery it was Nelson & myself out again, Steve H was a little under the weather and gave it a miss, once again we chose our venue well and caught plenty of roach, skimmers & chub, I even managed to bag a carp of about 2 to 3lbs.There was ice on the pool when we arrived but there were a few pegs free of ice and we gave it a go.

My New Maver Medusa pole handled it's first carp with ease, it's also making easy work of the silvers.

Upto now we have been lucky with weather, the snow and ice has not shown and the weather is very mild, we should be out over the christmas period and hopefully among the fish.
