Winter Fishing 2010

The summer months are a distant memory and we now have snow and ice on the ground, the thermal suits & boots have come out of the closet once more for some winter action. The cold weather has come earlier than last year and I can only think we are in for another bad winter.

The trio will be out and about in all weathers in the coming months, Heskin Old Hall Farm in Wrightingon will get plenty of visits from Steve, Nelson & Myself. It's one of those waters were we should get plenty of silver fish on the bank & maybe a winter carp.

The scenery has changed once more, the trees have shed their leaves and the dark bleak days of winter are here.Gone are the early starts, later starts and early finishes means we have a reduced time out on the water.Fishing for bites will be the norm on some of the waters we will visit.

It's also time to change back to lighter elastics for winter fishing, skimmers and roach now being the targets with the odd bonus carp that may come along. My new pole will possibly have to wait until next year to catch my first carp on it, the old beastmaster margin pole will now be recalled back into action for the winter season.

The ice and snow has come early this year and at present all our local haunts are frozen over, it's most likely that we will have to travel to some of the local rivers and give them a go.

Time to get wrapped up well , with soup in the flask & the odd fry up on the river bank to look forward to

Thank You to everybody who has visited the site in 2010, I hope you have enjoyed the articles and will return in 2011.
