How to tie the Palomar knot in 6 easy steps
Step 1:
Pass the mainline or hooklength through the eye of the hook & back through again to create a loop
Step 2:
Draw the doubled up line through far enough to allow a loose one turn knot as shown above to be tied
Step 3:
Holding the loose knot, pass the loop over the front of the hook
Step 4:
With the loop now over the hook, gently start to draw the loose ends tight & ease the loop over the hook body
Step 5:
While still drawing the ends & before finally tightening the knot, wet the knot with saliva & pull tight (do not put the hook into your mouth)
Step 6:
Trim the line to suit, keep on practising the technique until you can do it with your eyes shut.Remember "The better the knot, less chance of losing a decent fish"
