Hereford Trip June 2012

Friday June 22nd and the yearly trip to Hereford was underway,I cannot believe how time has flown by since last years holiday.

The weather this year has been unsettled and the first day of our trip was to be rather wet, we chose Stone End Farm to start with and had a great days fishing despite horrendous weather.

Below is a list of the waters we fished over the 8 days of our holiday

This years trip was to be another memorable one for myself,I turned 50 in May and managed to beat my personal best from last year with another carp on the last day in Hereford.

After a good start at Stone End Farm next up was Court Farm, once again the weather was poor, winter suits & boots were worn and the temperature was low.I ended up with 10 carp biggest being about 5 to 6lbs, swallows were darting over the water and in the distance I heard a Cuckoo calling, it may be summer but it did not feel like it.

Staunton Court was next and we all had a good day here, weather improved slightly and the fish were feeding.I had lots of the resident bream and managed to bag a few small carp.Steve Howard got off to a great start with his first cast, ending up with an 8lbs mirror carp.

I fished the margins for the last couple of hours and had some good sport on paste,I also fished upto the reeds to my left, once a fish took the bait I had to be quick to stop it going into the reeds.

Photo to the left, action shot of the Maver Medusa pole with a large bream hooked.

I lost count of the number of fish I had caught, the hours's fly by and before I knew it , it was time to pack up.

Next up Cob House Fishery.
